Moving in/out

Advice and tips for moving in

Rent payment

If you rent a property from us, you need to pay your rent monthly in advance. This means that your rent for the coming month will be available to us on the last working day of the current month. Be sure to send off your payment order, or register the payment through your internet bank a few days before the due date, so that the money reaches the landlord in due time.

Paper invoice

We send out payment forms monthly by mail. They’re usually sent out in the middle of each month. It’s important to be aware that each rental property has a unique OCR number, which means that the same OCR number cannot be used again and again.

Invoice by email

You can also choose to receive your rental payment forms as a pdf file sent to an email address of your choice. Send an email to info@kuduab.se stating ‘Rental payment form via email’ in the subject field. State your name and which address you are living at, as well as which email address you want the form sent to.

Electricity & heating

When you rent an apartment from us, heating and hot water are included, but the household electricity – i.e. the electricity you use when using lamps, appliances, TVs etc. – has to be paid separately by the tenant. This also means that you have to arrange your own electricity network contract at Kraftringen. If you do not arrange for an electricity contract at the time that you move in, you take the risk of Kraftringen switching off your electricity and you having to pay a reconnection fee to get it started again.

If you live in Lund, Kraftringen is the Network Owner, and that means having a network contract with them, but you can also choose another electricity supplier apart from Kraftringen, if you wish.

Keys

When you move into an apartment with us, you’ll receive a key receipt along with the keys. The receipt shows which keys you’ve been given and to which areas they belong. It’s important that you treat the keys and fobs like the valuable objects that they are. If you lose a key or a fob, you should report it to the police and notify our administrators. You are responsible for covering the cost of any lost keys. Most keys and entry fobs are charged at 300 kr per piece.

Change of address

At the time of moving, you should send a notification of change of address to the Swedish Tax Agency so that you are registered at the correct address. It’s free of charge and you can do it via the Swedish Tax Agency’s e-services or you can choose to send a notification on a paper form.

Remember that you have to make companies aware of your new address yourself and letters may need to be forwarded. You can get more information about this by contacting the Swedish change of address company, Svenska Adressändring.

Home insurance

Don’t forget to sign up for home insurance when you move in here. With home insurance, you protect yourself and your things.
